Kiol is a London based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer born in Turin (IT) whose music spans modern folk, indie pop, hip-hop and soul music. He’s influenced by young artists like Angus & Julia Stone, Mumford & Sons, Kurt Vile and old school giants like Ray Charles, Neil Young, Bill Withers and James Brown.
When he moved to Mallow (IRL) for a summer school he was still a drummer. During this period he has been encouraged to sing by some irish fellas who started calling him Kiol, which is the sound of the word music (ceol) in ancient Gaelic. That’s how Kiol took the road of songwriting.
Active from 2016 he recorded and released a folk EP and few singles that goes from soulful ballads and arena rock folk songs. During these years his musical taste expanded to different genres, like nu soul, funk, and world music. Now recording the second EP he aims to express himself through many different styles.
A new disco funk song is on the way to be released… welcome to his playground.
